3,200 square foot ranch style home in Lafayette has a Tudor exterior
that belied its bland interior. My clients had the wall to wall white
carpets removed and Brazilian cherry floors installed when they bought
the house and then they wanted some color on the walls! We chose an earthy
red for the dining room, a dark sage for the living room that complimented
the fireplace, and then had fun with other open areas like the family
room, entry hallways, which have no doors. One entry wall was a medium
green which led into the family room, painted in gingerbread-gold-brown
shades. The other entry wall merged into the hall, a deep earthy yellow,
and flowing into the kitchen. Here I used sand and moss colors to go
with the granite counter tops, and used that gingerbread color again
for the cabinets. |
